We’ve put together this easy guide to help you create gang sheets, prepare your artwork, choose the correct print size, and avoid common file issues when ordering from U Press Transfers.
HOW TO USE OUR DTF GANG SHEET BUILDER
The easiest way to order multiple DTF transfers is through our online gang sheet builder:

Click any gang sheet size. Don’t worry—the sheet can automatically adjust to the size you need.

Click “Auto Build.”

Upload your images.

Enter the size and quantity needed for each image.

Click “Apply.”

Carefully review your completed gang sheet.
Before adding your sheet to the cart, please confirm:
• Your images are clear and have good resolution.
• Your images have transparent backgrounds.
• The sizes and quantities are correct.
• No images are overlapping, cut off, or placed outside the sheet.
If something doesn’t look right, click “Auto Build” again to make adjustments. Once everything looks correct, click “Save & Add to Cart.”

Carefully review your completed gang sheet.
Make sure your images are clear, have transparent backgrounds, and are set to the correct sizes and quantities.
If something doesn’t look right, click “Auto Build” again to make adjustments. Once everything looks correct, click “Save & Add to Cart.”
RECOMMENDED TRANSFER SIZING CHART
These are general recommendations. The best size may vary depending on the design, garment style, and personal preference.
Large Adult — XXL and larger
Up to 12 inches wide and no taller than 14 inches
Adult — Small through XL
Up to 11 inches wide and no taller than 13.5 inches
Small Adult — XS and smaller
Up to 9 inches wide and no taller than 11 inches
Youth — All youth sizes
Up to 8 inches wide and no taller than 9.5 inches
Infant
Up to 5 inches wide and no taller than 6.5 inches
Adult Pocket Size
Up to 3.5 inches wide and no taller than 4.5 inches
Youth Pocket Size
Up to 3 inches wide and no taller than 4 inches
Please measure the intended print area before ordering. Garment brands, styles, and sizes can have different available printing areas.
PRINT-READY FILE GUIDELINES FOR DTF TRANSFERS
For the best possible print quality, please make sure your artwork is print-ready before submitting your order.
File Type
Please upload your artwork as a PNG file whenever possible.
PNG files work best for DTF transfers because they maintain image quality and support transparent backgrounds.
Resolution
Artwork should be created and saved at 300 DPI for the best printing quality.
Low-resolution artwork may print blurry, fuzzy, or pixelated. Increasing the size or DPI of an already low-quality image will not restore the missing detail.
Artwork Dimensions
Your artwork should be created close to the size you want it printed.
For shirt designs, we recommend creating your artboard at approximately 15 inches wide and tall whenever possible. This helps maintain clean edges and better print quality.
Transparent Background!!!
Your artwork should have a transparent background.
If the file contains a white, black, colored, or box-style background, that background may print as part of the design.
Please review your artwork carefully before ordering. All files are printed as submitted unless we identify an artwork issue that requires us to contact you.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SIZING AND EMPTY SPACE
The sizing box inside the gang sheet builder measures the entire uploaded image area. This includes any transparent or empty space surrounding the actual design.
When a file contains extra space around the artwork, the design itself may print smaller than the size entered in the builder.
This is commonly seen with SVG files and may also happen with PNG files. Transparent pixels are not always visible on your screen, but the builder may still detect them as part of the image.
Before uploading, crop the artwork as close to the actual design as possible. This helps ensure the measurements shown in the builder accurately represent the printed size of your design.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD PRINT-READY ARTWORK FROM CANVA
For the best results, create your Canva artboard at least 15 inches by 15 inches and make your design fill the available artboard as much as possible without cutting anything off.
When your design is finished:

Click “Share.”

Click “Download.”

Select PNG as the file type.

Slide the size or PX setting all the way to the right.

Check “Transparent Background.”
-
Click “Download.”
This will provide the highest-quality file Canva can produce for printing.
Please remember to crop out unnecessary empty space around the design before uploading it to our builder.
HOW TO REMOVE A BACKGROUND IN CANVA

Open your design in Canva.

Click on the image.
-
Select “Edit Photo.”
-
Choose “Background Remover.”
-
Review the image closely to make sure the background was removed cleanly.

Download the finished file as a PNG.
-
Make sure “Transparent Background” is selected before downloading.
Zoom in and check areas inside and around letters, logos, hair, shadows, and small details. Any background pixels left behind may print with the design.
NEED HELP REMOVING A BACKGROUND?
You are welcome to send your image to us before ordering. We will be happy to take a look and let you know whether we can help remove or clean up the background.
Please keep in mind that not every image can be cleaned up perfectly. Low-quality, blurry, pixelated, or highly detailed images with complicated backgrounds may require the artwork to be recreated by a professional designer.
COLOR MATCHING POLICY
We always do our best to produce bright, vibrant, and beautiful transfers. However, we cannot guarantee exact color matching.
Colors can appear differently from one screen to another. Phones, tablets, and computer monitors display colors using RGB, while printers reproduce colors using CMYK and other printing inks. Because of this, printed colors may appear slightly different from what you see on your screen.
Blues, greens, neons, pastels, and extremely vibrant colors are especially likely to experience slight shifts in tone. Lighting, garment color, material, and application conditions may also affect how a finished print appears.
For the closest possible color result, we recommend using specific color codes when creating your artwork. We also offer a free printed color chart that can be used as a physical color reference for future orders.
Please remember:
• Pictures of colors are not reliable for exact matching because lighting and screen settings create variations.
• All orders are printed according to the artwork and colors submitted.
• Normal color variation is not considered a printing defect.
• If you are concerned about a color, please email us the design and color code before ordering.
If there is an actual printing issue or a mistake on our end, please contact us. We will review the issue and make it right when needed.
SHIPPING INFORMATION AND DISCLOSURE
Once a package leaves our facility and is accepted by UPS or USPS, the package and its delivery are under the control of the shipping carrier.
We are happy to provide estimated delivery timeframes, but we cannot guarantee a specific arrival date. All transit times, tracking updates, delays, and delivery schedules are determined by the carrier.
U Press Transfers is not responsible for carrier delays or packages that are lost, stolen, or damaged while in the carrier’s possession.
For additional peace of mind, shipping protection may be available during checkout. Shipping protection provides coverage for qualifying situations in which the carrier does not successfully deliver the package or the order is damaged during transit. Any claim is subject to the shipping protection provider’s terms and eligibility requirements.
We truly wish we could personally hand-deliver every order, but unfortunately, that is not possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding when unexpected carrier issues occur.
FINAL ORDER CHECKLIST
Before submitting your order, please confirm:
• The correct product and builder were selected.
• All artwork is clear and high resolution.
• Each file has a properly removed transparent background.
• Empty space around the artwork has been cropped out.
• The sizes and quantities are correct.
• Nothing is overlapping or cut off.
• The gang sheet looks exactly how you want it printed.
• Your shipping address and selected shipping method are correct.
All gang sheets and artwork are printed as submitted, so reviewing everything carefully before adding the order to your cart is extremely important.
